※米国では検察官の事を prosecuting attorney とも呼ぶ。おそらくは裁判における行政側の代理人という考え方なのだろう。

現代のイギリス英語で弁護士を指す語として attorney が使われる事は少ないが、1873年の裁判所法の制定によって solicitor (事務弁護士) と呼ぶ事が決められる以前は使用されていたらしい。

“feature film” はよく “長編映画” などと訳されるが、ヒッチコックの時代には長編の娯楽映画と記録映画などの短編作品が同時上映される事が多かった。客寄せとしての目玉作品という意味で feature film と呼ばれたのが始まりなので、長編記録映画を feature film と呼ばない訳ではないが、ここではフィクションの娯楽映画という意味であろう。
